  REPLY: I understand that it isn’t an ideal situation to have a Google ID which doesn’t indicate one’s full name and uses initials only, however this is ONLY because I have one remaining elderly parent within your catchment area and I will NOT allow you or your representatives to attempt to contact her and potentially harass her over my frank review of your company. We didn’t ( and still don't) wish to contact your company with our complaints after the funeral as it was/is too damn late. You can’t revisit funeral services and you can’t take back comments made. I congratulate you on your seeking the proper legislation with regards to the scattering of a deceased’s ashes. I assume from that, that you’re now refraining from informing people that scattering someone's ashes on the beach is considered "pollution", and not suggesting to purchase a plaque from you as a better alternative. As an aside, Council does NOT need to be informed of one’s intentions to scatter ashes, so please don’t go there. Admittedly, I do view with some skepticism a positive review which suddenly appeared on this review site immediately after I provided less than positive feedback. I suspect Facebook reviews are open to manipulation as one can “cherry-pick” the reviews they want to keep or ones to discard. Be that as it may, perhaps you got this one right or perhaps their expectations were somewhat lower. Nonetheless, I’m very happy for the family involved that they were apparently happy with your services. You sadly let us down for our’s which is why you have attracted a "not so great", but candid, review.

  I cannot thank the staff at WT Howard Funerals enough for there compassion and amazing support when myself and my family needed it the most. Your honesty and empathy were both genuine and heartfelt and i found your staff to be so helpful and comforting going above and beyond to give us the peace and acceptance we needed at such a hard time.

  To “condense” my previous review, we were completely dissatisfied with the service your company provided for a substantial fee. It wasn't "a funeral home" as you suggested in your reply, but YOUR funeral home. The funeral service video was merely a collection of still photos with musical accompaniment . It wasn’t a video as such and DID NOT capture the actual service or any speeches which is what we wanted and were promised by your representative. This was completely disappointing for my family in Aus and overseas who weren’t able to come to Aus. In addition, your representative’s comment that we should purchase one of your memorial plaques as he said we couldn’t scatter my father’s ashes into the sea off Old Bar beach due to it being illegal as "it pollutes the beach” was utterly disgraceful and completely offensive to us. I sincerely hope that you aren’t telling anyone else that. IT IS WRONG INFORMATION and disgusting for him to suggest that! You need to indicate EXACTLY what your video package delivers and don’t make false promises. In addition, educate your representatives on how to provide correct information regarding the scattering of ashes and not to include their own inane personal opinions which was extremely offensive and wrong. The fact that you chose not to apologise in your disingenuous response makes me even more appauled. This is an honest and truthful review for the CORRECT company under Google Review’s own guidelines requiring "an honest representation of the customer experience" so please don’t ask me again to remove it. My suggestion to others if they really have to use this business is to know EXACTLY what you want before dealing with them and dictate your absolute wishes. Don't allow them to dissuade you from what you want, to choose other features they say they offer which unsurprisingly attract various additional fees.
